Impact
Report | 2024

A year of growth and impact
2024 was a year of tremendous growth and ambition for 100x. In a world grappling with complex challenges, we are driven by a simple yet profound question: what does it take to scale the impact of social innovations so they can reach hundreds of millions of people? 100x is a radical and ambitious experiment to find meaningful answers through a unique combination of academic rigour and bold, practical action.
We believe that rapidly scaling social innovation is not just possible but essential. Our work sits at the intersection of evidence-based research and entrepreneurship, positioning us as a model for how the best financial, intellectual and network support can drive systemic change. The ventures we support are stepping up to meet this challenge, using ambition, focus, risk-taking and exceptional delivery to turn transformative ideas into reality.
Two years in, and this progress is changing lives. Through three accelerator cohorts we’ve supported 19 ventures, collectively impacting over 35 million people and on a path to impacting many more. Our initial cohorts have already shown promising signs of systemic change, validating our model and providing a strong foundation for future expansion.
Last year, we welcomed 11 new ventures into the programme and launched a $2 million partnership with UBS Optimus Foundation to expand into Southeast Asia.
Our progress is built on a growing and thriving platform, one that nurtures innovation, connects changemakers, and mobilises advice, insight and resources. We’ve brought together funders, practitioners and decision-makers to build a community around scaling social change. And through integrating our portfolio ventures into the Marshall Institute’s teaching and LSE’s world-leading research, we are creating new paths to amplify our impact.
Our work is enabled by the generosity, and commitment of our partners. This support has been instrumental in establishing 100x as a transformative force in social innovation. We’re equally grateful for the collective efforts of the team, partners and supporters, our world-class advisory board and investment committee, and to our far-sighted partners at LSE. To the broader community of supporters who share our belief in the potential of social innovation at scale– thank you.

Our Work

Sourcing and funding social ventures
Since late 2022, we have proudly committed nearly £3 million to support 19 pioneering ventures driving meaningful change. Our latest application cycle, running from October 2024 to January 2025, drew 800+ applications from over 100 countries, reflecting the global reach and growing interest in our programme.
We joined forces with the UBS Optimus Foundation to launch a follow-on funding initiative aimed at accelerating the growth of high-impact ventures. To date, £900,000 has been invested to help three ventures scale their solutions, with additional capital reserved to support the promising innovations emerging from our future cohorts.
Accelerator Programme
The 100x Impact Accelerator Programme is designed to propel ventures towards becoming social unicorns. We offer bespoke support, helping social ventures develop robust end-game strategies for scaling, while connecting them with a powerful network of mentors, experts, and funders.
Building on the success of our inaugural programme in 2023, we continued to optimise content and design, focusing on bespoke, founder-led programming with space for peer-to-peer support and expert 1:1 coaching.
In the past year, we conducted two intensive 12-week programmes in March and September. These sessions focused on scaling strategies, leadership development, impact measurement, and fostering valuable network connections. Both programmes culminated in Summit Day in November, where the cohort showcased their work and impact to a community of nearly 200 impact leaders.

"We feel like we can do much more now because of the kind of organisations that we were paired with on the programme. Looking at their strategies, fundraising plans, and big visions has inspired us to reimagine what we can achieve."
Nicolas Laing
Co-Founder, OneDay Health

"The 100x programme has been hugely valuable for us, especially its emphasis on evidence-based data. Working with J-PAL to polish this aspect of our work and working with I.G Advisors to add clarity to our vision and approach have all been great additions to our organisation"
Dr Oby Ezekwesili
Founder, The SPPG

LSE Engagement
Since 2022, 100x has dedicated over £750,000 to funding research projects, scholarships, and internships at LSE—connecting the School's world-class research expertise to real-world impact.
100x Research Grants Scheme
The 100x Impact Accelerator Research Grants Scheme connects 100x with the wider LSE community, linking LSE’s world-leading researchers with visionary social entrepreneurs tackling the world’s most challenging issues. In 2024, we awarded four research grants:
Quality of and demand for care in rural Uganda: A Randomised Control Trial led by LSE Department of Policy’s Marta Grabowska and Dr. Mylene Lagarde, working with OneDay Health to shape policies improving healthcare delivery in Uganda and other low- and middle-income countries.
A digital patient feedback platform in Tanzania: Evaluating the pathways to impact led by Dr Fabrício Mendes Fialho from the LSE International Inequalities Institute in collaboration with 100x Cohort 1 venture Wezesha.
Evaluating the impact of a digital psychosocial tool on life skills and overall well-being with English-speaking college students in Gandhinagar, India: A mixed methods feasibility study led by Sarah Jasim from LSE's Care Policy Evaluation Centre, working with 100x portfolio venture Wysa.
Coordinating philanthropic capital: exploring the strengths and weaknesses of a staged investment system for high-impact nonprofit organisations led by Marshall Institute's Professor Jonathan Roberts.
Internships
In 2024, we collaborated with various Departments to provide internships for 19 LSE students including those studying Social Innovation & Entrepreneurship. These students supported our impact investment work, gaining practical experience in venture and funding models that accelerate impact at scale.
Over the summer, PhD student, Malaika Newsome-Magadza worked with 100x Cohort 1 venture Unlocked Labs as part of a micro internship, conducting research on the main challenges faced by professionals involved in the Earned and Good Time Credit system in the United States.
The Marshall Scholarship
In January 2024, The Marshall Institute launched a scholarship programme targeting leaders and entrepreneurs across the private, public and non-profit sectors who seek to make a positive impact on society through their academic and practical contributions to the field. Through this scholarship we supported two students from organisations that had previously applied to the 100x programme to study LSE's ground breaking Executive MSc in Social Business and Entrepreneurship.
Our Community

Partnerships
At 100x, we know that an accelerator’s true strength lies in the depth and reach of its partnerships. In 2024, we focused on expanding three key types of collaborations to strengthen our impact:
- Referral network: We built a 30+ partner referral network across the global impact ecosystem, ensuring a broader, more diverse pipeline of social ventures applying to 100x.
- Multipliers: Our portfolio ventures were matched with industry experts, advisors, and mentors—including LSE academics, alumni, and professional staff. This year, our multiplier community grew to 120 members, with 30% actively supporting the 2024 cohort.
- Funders: We deepened key funding partnerships, including UBS Optimus Foundation who have committed follow-on funding for selected ventures. We also finalised an extended $2 million partnership with UBS Optimus Foundation in Singapore to deepen our commitment to scaling impact-first organisations in the region.
Digital Community
100x’s digital community grew to 81,000+ members across social media, our website, and our newsletter, playing a key role in amplifying our mission and the impact of our portfolio ventures.
In 2024, we expanded our reach by launching new platforms, including Facebook, which attracted 7,000 followers in just six months. We also introduced our first quarterly newsletter, engaging nearly 3,000 readers—building a direct channel to share insights, opportunities, and venture successes with our growing global audience.
Beyond our own channels, 100x partnered with key industry media platforms including NextBillion, Causeartist, Alliance Magazine, TechBuild Africa, and UKFundraising to spotlight our work and the bold solutions of our portfolio ventures.
To further elevate the visibility of our portfolio, we produced high-impact content—including videos, blogs, and social media features, reaching 7,200+ views across LinkedIn and YouTube. As our digital community grows, so does our ability to connect changemakers, funders, and partners committed to driving systemic change.
Events
Participating in key social innovation dialogues within and outside the LSE was a top priority for 100x last year and our team set out to do exactly this.
- In April, 100x supported founders and team members to participate in the 2024 Skoll World Forum in Oxford. We also hosted a dialogue about funding relationships between funders and founders.
- 100x cohosted joint networking events with the Marshall Institute, bringing together impact leaders from within and outside the LSE, including an annual summer party in June and an Alumni networking breakfast in November.
- 100x leaders spoke at several LSE events through out the year, including the LSE Alumni Board meetings and Social Innovation and LSE panels. In Q4, CEO & Director Kieron Boyle represented 100x on a social innovation panel at the India Philanthropy Forum in London, as a keynote speaker for the Aspire Impact Roadshow in India and on several partner panels on impact investing in Singapore, including with the Wealth Management Institute.
- 100x hosted it’s second annual Summit Day event in the Marshall Building in November 2024, attended by nearly 200 guests and featuring 11 ventures from our 2024 cohort
